Hello:

I would like to submit to the SPR ECPN listserve for distribution the 
following inquiry:

I am an early career researcher looking to publish a portion of my 
dissertation in the form of a book chapter. If anyone is or will be 
working on an edited book dealing with the etiology of adolescent drug 
use, and is seeking chapter submissions that center on this topic, 
please contact me (Rebecca J. Howell, University of Alabama, 
rjhowell at ua.edu). I recently completed a comprehensive, systematic 
review of the extant literature (36 studies published between 1970-
2007) on predictors of soft drug (alcohol, cigarette, and marijuana) 
initiation among 12-17 year olds. Given that soft drug initiation 
outcomes were examined for both total samples and age-graded samples of 
youth, the length of the manuscript is more conducive for a book 
chapter than a journal article. In conducting this review, I addressed 
numerous gaps in the existing systematic review literature base. In 
turn, the findings underscore numerous literature voids in the 
etiological literature that future prediction research can easily
