General summary:
Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago is seeking an individual to join
its research team to carry out
longitudinal preventive intervention research as part of a larger program of
research designed to build
knowledge to improve policies and programs for children, youth, families,
and their communities.
The Researcher conducts statistical analyses across a range of longitudinal
studies, independently
prepares sections of research reports and manages the operations of the data
management staff.

their families and

Qualifications:
Advanced degree in public health, public policy, psychology, or other
relevant social science field
required; a minimum of three years quantitatively-focused data
analysis/management research
experience required, preferably with longitudinal datasets; a minimum of two
years supervision of
professional research staff required; proficiency with SAS, SPSS and/or
STATA program languages
required; strong interest in and aptitude for developing advanced
programming and analytic skills for
working with longitudinal data required; ability to translate and convey
complex concepts and study
findings in oral and written communications required; problem-solving skills
required; ability to
manage multiple, concurrent tasks required; interpersonal skills required;
ability to work
independently with a high degree of initiative required; demonstrated
capacity for working in a
collaborative research environment required; knowledge of the
interdisciplinary field of prevention
science preferred. The successful applicant will be able to show evidence of
the ability to translate
substantive research questions into statistical analyses, and to translate
the results of quantitative
analyses into substantive conclusions. A cover letter, resume, writing
