The School of Social and Family Dynamics (SSFD), an interdisciplinary
unit at Arizona State University (http://www.asu.edu/ssfd), invites
applications for a full-time, Assistant Research Professor position with
a focus on social prevention/intervention in early childhood. This
position is a 12-month non-tenure-track position beginning Summer or
Fall of 2010. A successful candidate will be expected to provide
leadership in the development and assessment of a multi-year on-going

candidates must have a PhD or equivalent by time of appointment in
family sciences, psychology, education or a related field, and have
evidence of research and its application in areas related to
prevention/intervention for children from 3 to 8 years of age. Potential
for obtaining external funding in these areas also is required. The
successful candidate must have evidence of the ability to conduct
relevant work and to produce published research. Preference will be
given to candidates with experience in examining the role of gender in
prevention/intervention programs, and to those with experience of
working in collaborative interdisciplinary settings. Annual salary is
$55,000 plus full benefits.

Complete applications will be reviewed beginning February 1, 2010; if
not filled, then every week thereafter until the search is closed. Send
a letter of application describing your research and training background
and interests, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, and a
sample of written work to Carol Martin (asuintervention at gmail.com),
Search Committee Chair, Arizona State University, School of Social and
Family Dynamics, Tempe, AZ 85287-3701. All materials must be submitted
electronically to asuintervention at gmail.com. A background check is
required for employment. Arizona State University is an equal
opportunity/affirmative action employer. ASU encourages and values a
diverse workforce.

This research is funded by a large foundation grant. More information
