Adolescent Risk Behavior Researcher, PhD Level

Job Description  

 

RTI International is seeking a Adolescent Risk Behavior Researcher trained
in adolescent risk behavior (substance use, sex, violence) to grow and
contribute in a program area of risk behavior and family research.  

    

Responsibilities  

 

Assist with implementing a meta-analysis cross-site evaluation of abstinence
education programs and programs serving pregnant and parenting teens; review
evaluation reports and provide evaluation technical assistance to such
programs; assist with writing proposals on interventions to promote
parent-child communication and prevent adolescent substance use and sex risk
behaviors; and take a lead role on writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed
journals.  

    

Qualifications  

 

Ph.D. or Dr.P.H., or pending completion of Ph.D or Dr.P.H. in public health,
psychology, sociology, or a related field and experience in adolescent
health research. Qualified candidates must have at least 1 year of
experience in adolescent health and/or risk behavior research. 

 

Strong research methodological skills, multivariate analytic skills, strong
writing ability and peer-reviewed publication record in adolescent health
and/or risk behavior research, and knowledge of social and behavioral theory
are required; project leadership experience is desired. A writing sample is
requested at the time of application
