Conference Format: The one-day conference will be held on May 7, 2010 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The conference format will include four invited lecturers followed by break-out sessions with NIDA program staff and concluding with a poster session of student and fellow research. We are pleased to have Steven W. Gust, Ph.D., Director of the NIDA International Program at the National Institute on Drug Abuse as our keynote speaker this year. Dr. Steven W. Gust has directed the NIDA International Program since 1999, where he is responsible for the Institute's efforts to foster rigorous collaborative and peer-reviewed international research and promote cooperation between NIDA and other U.S. agencies; foreign governments; and international, regional, and nongovernmental organizations. Conference Focus: The primary conference objective is to support student and fellow research dissemination. All application materials are due by Friday, April 2, 2010. Program Purpose: The Minority Scholarship Program is designed to provide support for students and researchers of color to attend the Annual Meeting of the Society for Prevention Research (http://www.preventionresearch.org/meeting.php ). The Program is designed to expand the pool of students and researchers of color interested in the field of prevention.
